A library, not a promise.
We combine a large destination library with original planning frameworks, comparison tools and an editable budget studio. We want to help travelers make thoughtful choices without pretending that one itinerary works for everyone.
How the guides are made
Destination content is adapted from openly licensed Wikivoyage guides, with contributor attribution, original revision links and source dates. Source material is edited for reading and selected for substance. Prices and private contact details are removed. Original field notes and planning tools are created for Lakhou.
What we do not claim
We are not a live airfare engine, visa adviser or emergency service. We do not label destinations safe for every traveler, guarantee hotel availability or present editorial budget assumptions as current local prices. Our guides are references; current details must be checked with providers and authorities.
The business model
This service is currently free. No advertising or commissioned affiliate links are enabled in this release. Selected Dominican Republic guides link to relevant services from Proactivitis, which belongs to the same business ecosystem as Lakhou. These recommendations are labeled and are separate from the licensed community guide text. If they are introduced, sponsored placements and affiliate relationships will be labeled. They should not interfere with the planning task.
Corrections and contact
Send a page link and a specific correction to info@proactivitis.com. A useful correction identifies what changed and links to a reliable source. Please do not send passport scans, payment details or private booking credentials.
